The Art Of The Follow Up After The Trade Show

May 31, 2019

When you head to the trade show, it can be one of the best opportunities out there for you and your business to forge connections, generate leads, and more. But what you’ll have to keep in mind is that you may end up needing to go beyond just what you do before and after the show. Yes, the right trade show exhibit will have a tremendous impact on your time at the show – but it’s the process of turning those leads into actual conversions that is the most important part of the process.

But just how can you do that? There are a few key points that can help make it easier to get great results from a trade show appearance and turn the leads you generate into actual sales and leads. Here are the main tips to keep in mind.

•  Start With A Good Design – Good trade show exhibit design is the first step, and it’s a foundation that you’ll build everything else off of. Essentially, you want a trade show exhibit that will showcase your brand and business, introduce your product or service, and stand out in the memories of those who visited throughout the day.

•  Create Connections – On the trade show floor, it’s important that you don’t just let your attendees show up, look around, and leave. Instead, you’ll want your exhibiting team to get out there and create connections. Exhibitors should talk to visitors, engage with them, and find out just what it is that they need – then show them how you can solve it.

•  Hand Out Some Items – Whether its’ as basic as a business card or a pen or something more upscale and trendier like a backpack or flash drive, be sure to hand out something that will extend your brand after participants leave and that will allow you to be remembered after the show is over.

•  Get Follow Up Info and Use It – While on the floor, your team should always be working towards getting contact info. Social media follows, emails on your email list, and more will be important for making a connection. Then, after the show is over your team needs to connect with those people and follow up after the show.

These simple tips can make it easier to generate meaningful connections at the trade show and truly get the most ROI possible from your time there. Our team can help. Contact Lighthouse Exhibits today to talk to our design team and find out more about what we can do for you.
