Turning Trade Show Leads Into Sales

When you visit a trade show, there is generally one primary goal – to increase your company’s overall sales. While you may not make too many sales at the show itself, what you do there will be vital in transforming the leads you connect with into sales. As such, it’s important that you take the time to ensure that you’re doing all you can to create meaningful leads and that you take the steps needed to turn those leads into sales.

 

Here are some of the main things to consider to ensure that you create sales from your leads.

  • Build A Better Exhibit – Simply put, you need your trade show exhibit to stand out, look great, build your brand, and represent your company. If it’s shoddy or a poor representation of your business, you’ll be doing yourself a disservice. Make sure you have a great exhibit design before you head to the show.

  • Connect With Social Media – You can use social media to tell your current followers that you’re at the show, but don’t’ forget to encourage attendees to connect with you on social media, either. Try to give them reasons to do so. The more people that follow you on social media while you’re at the show, the more leads you’ll have to reach out to later.

  • Get Personal – Trade shows can be hectic, for exhibitors as well as attendees. As such, it’s well worth taking the time to try to connect at a personal level with visitors whenever you can. If you take the time to talk to people, they’ll appreciate it in a big way – and may give your company their business more freely.

  • Build Your Brand – Hand out freebies with branding on it. Do giveaways for bigger prizes. Use your exhibit to showcase your main product or service. All in all, your time at the trade show should be spent building your brand identity as much as possible.

  • Follow Up – Once the trade show is over, don’t assume that you should just pack it up and head home. You’ve hopefully gotten lots of contact info – either emails, social media connections, or something else. After the show is over, give it a few days and then start reaching out to those leads. If you don’t follow up with them, they may never connect with you again, so you should be proactive.
